This past Sunday, we had our Young Women New Beginnings program. We combined with another ward, Spartanburg I, because we have a small amount of young women in our ward. It went really well! We talked about the new mutual theme for 2009, which is, "Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity" ~1 Timothy 4:12. The girls also compared personalities to shoes. For example, “You don’t want to ‘flip-flop’ in your testimony.” hehe Cute, huh? The last shoe was a temple shoe, to help remind the girls of making a goal of marrying in the temple one day. Towards the end, the girls sang “Walk Tall, You're a Daughter of God” with their moms. It was a tear-jerker! Here are the lyrics to the song, if you don’t know them:
