Cinco de Mayo

We took off a month of schooling after baby Joey arrived, which was nice, but when it was time to get back to school we were both ready and excited about it! Our first lesson back was about Cinco de Mayo. We both learned a lot about the holiday and about Mexican history. I think when most Americans think of Mexico, they think of immigration (myself included!) It was very interesting to actually learn about something cool and good about Mexico for a change. I had a bit of a paradigm shift.
For our field trip we went to an authentic Mexican restaurant all together as a family. It was super fun and delicious! It actually had a lot of Mexican history memorabilia on the walls, so that was great to go with our weekly topic. It was one of our first ventures out with three kids, and it worked out well!
